單字概述與用法
well有五個詞性。最常見的用法是當副詞,語意為很好地、非常、完全地,如用來修飾普通動詞,表示做某事做得很好; 也可以用來強調某些介系詞、形容詞跟副詞。當形容詞時,語意為健康的,前面為be動詞。當名詞時,語意為井。well也有動詞的用法,語意為湧出,指液體從某處流出; 不過,更多用於文學或描述性語言中,較少在日常對話中使用。最後,well也可以當感嘆詞,用來表示驚訝、懷疑、不太同意或生氣; 或是語助詞,用於引出要說的話題。well的三態為:well / welled / welled。

使用時注意事項:
- 不要與good混淆。good是形容詞,用來修飾名詞;而well作為副詞,���飾動詞、形容詞或其他副詞。雖然well也有形容詞的用法,但是,不用來描述事物的好壞,而是表示人身體很健康的意思。
- 要注意well用作形容詞跟副詞在語意上的差異 - 例如 "He is well." 表示他身體好(在be動詞後面),而描述某人做某事做得好應使用 "He does well."(修飾普通動詞)。
as well、too和 also都是用來表達「也」的副詞,但它們在句子中的用法和位置略有不同:
- as well通常用於句尾,表示某事物與前面提到的事物相同或類似。常用在口語中,以增加信息。
例句:I'll have a coffee, and bring me a piece of cake as well.

- too也是通常放在句尾,用來添加信息,與 "as well" 相似,但在寫作和口語中都很常見。在寫作時,這種用法的too前面要有逗號。
