「Off」怎麼用？詳解含「Off」的英語片語動詞

Off的意思？

不像apple, happy, fast或decide這些單字可以單獨翻譯，構成片語動詞的介系詞跟介副詞這一類的字無法單獨給予翻譯，這些字會因為前後文而有些語意上的差異，尤其是構成片語動詞時，語意的差異會更是令人難以想像，這也是為什麼許多英語學習者對於這一類的字感到無法掌握的原因。在這一類的常見單字中，off的用法跟意思應該是最為人所不熟悉的了。然而，off卻構造了許多日常常見的片語動詞，如果不熟悉off的概念的話，很難理解這些片語動詞的語意。

off的詞性

off有五個詞性：動詞(殺死)、名詞(the off離開)、形容詞、介系詞跟副詞。因為它的動詞與名詞用法都不常見，也對了解片語動詞的語意沒有很大的幫助，所以在這裡，我們只討論它的形容詞、介系詞跟副詞的用法。

這部分介紹的片語動詞都有不關心或不理會的意思：

1. brush off 拒絕、忽略，不理會
   She brushed off his attempts to apologize.
   她拒絕了他的道歉。
2. laugh off 不以為然、一笑置之
   He laughed off the criticism as if it didn’t matter.
