Lead單字概述與用法:

lead有兩個詞性。當動詞時,表示導向某方向、指引或領導某群體。及物時,後面直接接受詞,語意為帶領、引導、引誘、領先; 不及物時,後面常接有介系詞,語意為通往、領先、帶路。當名詞時,語意為領先、示範,表示領先的位置、路徑或優勢。名詞lead還有提示、引線、鉛筆芯、鉛的語意。lead的三態為不規則三態,要注意發音變化:lead / led / led。

從Google Ngram Viewer的數據可以看到,自1800年到2019年的在的219年間,Lead的使用頻率狀況,在2019年所出版的書籍中,每一百萬個字中,就會有108.54個字是Lead。
