recently是一個副詞，語意為最近、近來。recently修飾動詞時，可用於過去式，也可用於現在完成式，表示某特定動作或狀態發生在最近的一段時間中 。這個字可以放在句首、句尾跟句中。在句中的位置時，跟already很像，在普通動詞前面或在have/ has後面(現在完成式)。recently不可用在現在簡單式或未來式。recently也可以修飾形容詞，例如：a recently published novel 最近出版的一本小說。
