addition的語意是加法時(將兩個或兩個以上的人或事物合在一起)，它是不可數名詞; 如語意是(在原有的基礎上) 添加、建築物的擴建部分、增加的人或物時，則是可數名詞。名詞addition，語意為添加，在去掉ition這個名詞字尾時，則看到了動詞 add了。反之，在addition後面接上al，就將名詞變成形容詞了
